Byword is an excellent choice for writers who create content for websites and blogs. You type Markdown-formatted text, use a menu option to invoke the preview, and export to one of several available file formats including HTML, PDF, Microsoft Word, and LaTeX. So what was the original question about? Sorry about the confusion. Byword is no-frills Markdown editor for macOS and iOS. Even the annoying dialogs may be “automized away” to some extent but I won’t go into that since it is easier for me to avoid Word altogether and not that much friction to press a key or two, s.a. However, Word doesn’t seem to remember or know that I created the document with links to my local drive and am the only one with access to both the document and my local drive, (as long as within my jurisdiction) and the one who allowed access. That’s OK with me, as long as I don’t have to do it again.
